Talk to my energy is a Chrome extension that helps a signed-in Southern California Edison customer view, analyze, and export energy and billing information available in their own SCE account.
Information the extension handles
The extension may process account-holder details, service address, SCE account identifiers, billing amounts and projections, rate-plan information, electricity usage intervals, and solar-export intervals. It detects signed-in status but does not collect or store your SCE password, browser cookies, or access tokens.
How information is used
The information is used only to provide the extension's dashboard, local energy analysis, sync status, and user-requested CSV or JSON exports.
Storage and sharing
Synced information is stored in Chrome's local extension storage on your device. The developer does not operate a data server for this extension. The extension does not transmit your energy or account information to the developer, analytics providers, advertising networks, or other third parties.
Retention and deletion
Information remains in local extension storage until it is replaced by a later sync, cleared through Chrome, or removed when the extension is uninstalled. Files you export are controlled by you and remain wherever your browser saves them.
Permissions
The extension accesses www.sce.com to read information available in your signed-in account, uses local storage to retain dashboard data and preferences, uses the side panel to display the product, and uses downloads to create exports you request.
Limited Use
The use of information received through Chrome complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is not sold, used for advertising, used to determine creditworthiness, or transferred for unrelated purposes.
Security
The extension limits access to the SCE website and does not include remote executable code. Keeping Chrome and the extension updated helps protect locally stored information.
